Found is southern African waters, this penguin is called the "jackass" penguin due to loud donkey-like bray. These penguins are Critically Endangered due to hunting and environmental impacts, like oil spills.
The painting is titled "Jackass Penguin" and is part of my Disappearing Animals series. I wanted to bring awareness to so many creatures that are almost gone.
