I recently painted 100 extinct birds as part of a project was called 100 Birds You Will Never See Again. The main purpose was to bring awareness to extinct birds as well as honor each one. These birds are truly lost gems. The reality is that you, your children, and future generations will never get to meet these lost birds.

The Great Auk. The great auk was an important part of many Native American cultures, both as a food source and as a symbolic item. Auks ranged as far south as northern Spain and along the coastlines of Canada, Greenland, Iceland Norway, Ireland, and Great Britain.
