I recently painted 100 extinct birds as part of a project was called 100 Birds You Will Never See Again. The main purpose was to bring awareness to extinct birds as well as honor each one. These birds are truly lost gems. The reality is that you, your children, and future generations will never get to meet these lost birds.

The Bonin Grosbeak. This bright red Grosbeak was from Japan. This Grosbeak with its bright red feathers was last seen in the 1830's.
