I recently painted 100 extinct birds as part of a project was called 100 Birds You Will Never See Again. The main purpose was to bring awareness to extinct birds as well as honor each one. These birds are truly lost gems. The reality is that you, your children, and future generations will never get to meet these lost birds.

No. 15 in the series.
The Rodrigues Parrot
A colorful Rodrigues Parrot. The color was so bright that people who wrote about this parrot called it red fire-like. This dapper bird was from the island of Rodrigues in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar.
