I recently painted 100 extinct birds as part of a project that was called 100 Birds You Will Never See Again. The main purpose was to bring awareness to extinct birds as well as honor each one. These birds are truly lost gems. The reality is that you, your children, and future generations will never get to meet these lost birds.

The Bermuda Saw-Whet Owl
There is not a definite reason for the loss of these little owls, but could be related to the decline of cedar and palmetto trees, or the arrival of non-native predators.
