I recently painted 100 extinct birds as part of a project that was called 100 Birds You Will Never See Again. The main purpose was to bring awareness to extinct birds as well as honor each one. These birds are truly lost gems. The reality is that you, your children, and future generations will never get to meet these lost birds.

The Choiseul Pigeon


A friendly Choiseul Pigeon. . It's claimed that the species was very tame, allowing local hunters to approach it and pick it up off of its perch by hand.

Now gone. .... Extinct 1904.
