I recently painted 100 extinct birds as part of a project that was called 100 Birds You Will Never See Again. The main purpose was to bring awareness to extinct birds as well as honor each one. These birds are truly lost gems. The reality is that you, your children, and future generations will never get to meet these lost birds.

The North Island Snipe


A gorgeous North Island Snipe for no 80. She is truly a sight in her red hat and scarf. These birds were also called the little barrier snipe or tutukiwi. They were in the sandpiper family.
