I recently painted 100 extinct birds as part of a project that was called 100 Birds You Will Never See Again. The main purpose was to bring awareness to extinct birds as well as honor each one. These birds are truly lost gems. The reality is that you, your children, and future generations will never get to meet these lost birds.

The Bishop's ‘ō‘ō
A very notable Bishop's ‘ō‘ō. These esteemed birds were hunting by the Hawaiians due to the much sought yellow feathers to make the precious capes for the nobility. As a protest he decided no hat...thank you. Just a fanciful ascot.
Now Gone.... extinct 1904.
