I recently painted 100 extinct birds as part of a project that was called 100 Birds You Will Never See Again. The main purpose was to bring awareness to extinct birds as well as honor each one. These birds are truly lost gems. The reality is that you, your children, and future generations will never get to meet these lost birds.

A dapper North Island Goose. The North Island goose was as large as some of the smaller species of moa. It was terrestrial, flightless and had short wings and a shortened tail..
