I recently painted 100 extinct birds as part of a project that was called 100 Birds You Will Never See Again. The main purpose was to bring awareness to extinct birds as well as honor each one. These birds are truly lost gems. The reality is that you, your children, and future generations will never get to meet these lost birds.

The Bonin Thrush
An Alluring Bonin Thrush. These little birds were from the Ogasawara Islands south of Tokyo, Japan. The Bonin Thrush was a gentle bird, living in coastal woods where it usually kept to the ground.
