I recently painted 100 extinct birds as part of a project that was called 100 Birds You Will Never See Again. The main purpose was to bring awareness to extinct birds as well as honor each one. These birds are truly lost gems. The reality is that you, your children, and future generations will never get to meet these lost birds.

The Lyall's Wren


A handsome little Lyall's Wren. These small flightless wrens were from New Zealand. There is a story about these poor little birds being driven to extinct by a single creature (a lighthouse keeper's cat named Tibbles)
