No 34. Ivory-billed Woodpecker
Ivory-billed Woodpeckers are Critically Endangered and some experts believe they are extinct. Heavy logging activity and hunting by collectors devastated the population in the late 19th century. The woodpeckers were generally considered extinct, yet in the 1920s a pair turned up in Florida, only to be shot for specimens.
This Original painting is titled "Ivory-billed Woodpecker" and is part of my Disappearing Animals series. I wanted to bring awareness to so many creatures that are almost gone.
~Original Watercolor Painting on 140lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper.
The painting is 5" x 7" and is singed by me (the artist).

These painting come in a plastic sleeve and mailed in a stiff non-bendable mailer in order to prevent damage.
